Job DescriptionJob Description

The Associate Teacher at MCPK works as part of a three person teacher team supervising and guiding a classroom of 3, 4 or 5 year old students. The Associate Teacher assists the Lead Teacher and the Assistant Teacher with the following:

  • supervising a group of 16-20 preschool age children

  • creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

  • maintaining a safe and orderly classroom in compliance with NJ licensing standards

  • planning and implementing a child-emergent, play based curriculum

  • creating and facilitating fun and educational center activities and projects

  • assessing students in Pre-K learning standards, monitoring progress and scaffolding learning activities with teacher support

  • daily communication with families both verbally and via email

The required education and experience for the Teacher Associate position are as follows:

  • HS diploma or equivalency

  • Completion of a Child Development Associate (CDA) program

  • Teaching experience of at least two years in an early childhood environment
