JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Ability to set-up and operate plate rolling equipment with (minimal guidance) to successfully roll plate cylinders to required specifications.
• Ability to successfully fit steel parts (rolled cylinders, dished tank heads, nozzles, manways, etc.) together with proper joint preparation and within the given specifications and tolerances in accordance with shop drawings (with minimal guidance).
• Ability to set-up and utilize the following equipment: Mig welding equipment, Tig welding equipment, Submerged arc welder, Brake press, Band saw, and other equipment used in the fabrication of tanks and or their components.
• Ability to cross-train on all fabrication equipment and machinery.
• Must have a full understanding of blue-print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part.
• Thorough understanding of flat pattern layout. (Mostly done on CNC, occasionally the need for manual layout required) with minimal guidance.
• Must understand and comply with all safety features of the fabrication equipment.
• Must understand and comply with all safety policies and work rules of the company.
• Work in an efficient and timely manner.
• Keeps work area clean, including machine surfaces, at all times.
• Any other duties as assigned by the leadman on the shop floor to allow for the team to be successful.
• Ability to work overtime as required. (Possibility of light travel from time to time.)

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• HS Diploma or general equivalency (GED) required.
• 2 + years previous applicable experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of welding and fitting.
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and schematics.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
• Ability to bend, twist, climb, crawl and stoop repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

HOURS:

• 7:30am to 4:00pm - Monday thru Friday (base schedule)

UNION BOILERMAKER:

· After 120-day probationary period, employee shall be enrolled to become a member of the Boilermaker's Union (Local 374).
