Our programs provide services to include early childhood education, mental health and well-being counseling services, outpatient substance abuse treatment, parent education and engagement, family strengthening, therapeutic visitation and neutral exchange for children and families; financial empowerment, workforce development and readiness, and senior in-home assistance.   

Teacher Assistant Floater

The Teacher Assistant (including substitutes and floaters) assists the Head Start Teacher in delivering the
classroom curriculum in accordance with Head Start regulations, licensing, and guidelines, and will use agency
standards to ensure that services provided are in alignment with the Social Determinants of Health through a
trauma informed care lens as defined by the agency. Ensures the classroom is one in which children are aware
of expectations, provided with rules, maintain consistency; while building a positive relationship with students
which focuses on positive communication, appropriate physical proximity, respect, positive discipline, and
guidance. Maintain supervision of children at all times.

Qualifications
Education
Required

High School or better in Early Childhood Education.

Preferred

Associates or better in Early Childhood Education.

Experience
Required

1.. High School Diploma or GED plus a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required; working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with a major relative to early childhood education preferred.
2. Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification.
Preferred

1. Previous classroom experience and ability to utilize various learning techniques in the successful delivery of curricula.
2. Understands cultural differences and is sensitive to the implications of culture for service delivery.
3. Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) desirable.
