Job Overview:

Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a prominent manufacturer in the McDonough, GA area and we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Superintendent to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production operations to ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently. This role involves managing a team of production supervisors and operators, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and striving for continuous improvement in all areas of production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:

    • Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of the production department to ensure the effective use of resources.
    • Monitor production metrics and KPIs to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
    • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors and operators.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Quality Control:

    • Ensure all products are manufactured according to quality standards and specifications.
    • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
  • Safety Management:

    • Promote and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and trainings to minimize workplace accidents and incidents.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.
    • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence.
  • Resource Management:

    • Coordinate with the procurement and logistics teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and supplies.
    • Manage production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
    • Maintain accurate records of production activities and equipment maintenance.

 

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
    • Proven track record of successful team leadership and production management.
  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and industry best practices.
    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
    • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
