Position: Charter High School Instructors: Mathematics & Social Studies
CCA Academy: Located on the Westside of Chicago, CCA Academy is a campus of the Youth Connection Charter School (YCCS). It provides students a rigorous and nurturing environment through theme-based competency education in urban agriculture/sustainability and restorative justice. CCA Academy has achieved a CPS Level 1 status every year.
Job summary: Instructors use a skills based competency education curriculum. They must work with students at different academic levels and abilities. They must have high expectations of students and must be committed to building and maintaining a culture of academic excellence in a low-income urban setting.
Personal qualities: Must commit to the school's mission to create lifelong learners and vision to empower students to reach their full potential; must have the ability to think analytically; and must have strong interpersonal and extraordinary communication skills.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and PEL certification required.
Beginning Salary: $60,000 for a ten month school year or commensurate with degrees and experience.
Benefits: Health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, short and long term disability, life insurance, pension plan; and vacation, sick, and personal leave.
