Nielson Construction is looking for a Seasonal Equipment Operator to join their Excavation Team The Equipment Operator operates various contractor equipment/ trucks used in construction, maintenance, and repair activities and performs semiskilled tasks in residential, commercial, and development operations. Candidates should have experience operating excavators, pay loaders, and skid loaders. This is a seasonal position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights for hauling dirt, digging, backfilling, and final grading.
  • Perform daily inventory and maintenance inspections on all equipment being used at the job site.
  • Understand and follow all company policies and procedures. Uphold the safety standards of the company.
  • Maintain accurate timecards and paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A valid driver license is required. A valid Class A CDL is preferred, but not required. We can help you get it
  • Able to work overtime.
  • Some heavy lifting of over 50 pounds.
  • Able to read and understand construction drainage plans.
  • Understand maintenance requirements for equipment.
