ROAD DESIGN SR. PROJECT ENGINEER

 

JSE is seeking Road Design Senior Project Engineers with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Civil Engineering and a concentration in Transportation. Candidates should have five or more years of experience in civil design for roadway projects. Roadway projects include but are not limited to:

  • Interstates, Highways and Freeways

  • Urban streets

  • Various Intersections Including Roundabouts

  • Interchange Layout

 

Job Description:

  • Create plans ensuring geometric calculations conform to required code and standards,

  • Model road designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or GeoPak, InRoads, Guide Sign, and AutoTURN

  • Ensure AASHTO codes, INDOT design manual requirements, and design standards are followed

  • Supervise and train technicians and PEs

  • Assist supervisor in development of plan sets and details, as well as project team meetings

  • Develop project specifications, provisions, and estimates adhering to client requirements

  • Meet deadlines and cost targets

  • Manage required project documentation, reports, and minutes

  • Maintain Professional Engineering registrations

  • Establish and uphold client relationships

  • Communicate with clients regarding updates and necessary adjustments

  • Accept additional responsibilities as trainings progress

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

  • Licensed PE in Indiana (or acquire within six months)

  • Exceptional Time management skills

  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Extraordinary attention to detail

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office programs

  • Substantial listening and communication skills
