Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy construction equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation on our job sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy construction equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems with equipment and develop repair plans.

Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty parts, components, and systems, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.

Perform welding and fabrication work as needed to repair equipment components and structures.

Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.

Document all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings.

Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Communicate with equipment operators and project managers to coordinate maintenance schedules and equipment availability.

Provide technical support and training to equipment operators as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.

Proven experience as a heavy construction equipment mechanic, preferably in a construction or civil engineering environment.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and technical issues with heavy equipment.

Experience with welding and fabrication techniques for equipment repair.

Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
