Assembly Technician

Technicians in this position assemble precision aircraft components and sub-assemblies.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Obtain kitted (pre-picked) detail parts, standards and assemblies.
  • Assemble aircraft components such as helicoils, inserts, studs, and bushings
  • Perform heat and freeze processes to install tight tolerance components
  • Use solvents to clean surfaces prior to sealing or assembly
  • Apply sealant, alodine, primer, special finishes, as required
  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify any defects or malfunctions
  • Use tools such as an arbor press, punches, gages, wrenches, and vise grips to perform assembly functions
  • Follows approved assembly procedures for component or aircraft assemblies

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Follow company procedures and directives.
  • Test finished products for defects.
  • Maintain the tools used to create products.
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.

Qualifications:

  • GED Required
  • Strong hand-eye coordination
  • Experience with hand tools is preferred
  • Some manufacturing experience preferred
  • Some experience with small engine repair is preferred

Work Environment:

A climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a moderate noise level. In this position, you work a full-time schedule in a manufacturing setting.

Employment Criteria:

This position includes access or potential access to ITAR technical data. Therefore, candidates will need to qualify as a US Person, which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
