Atwell is hiring a construction staking surveyors for major projects with a diverse scope of work.

Responsibilities/Job Purpose:

The Construction Staking Crew Chief will support the project team in staking special projects, as well as, residential, commercial, and industrial project sites.

Typical Duties:

• Perform survey activities such as leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, and profile and cross-section surveys.
• Perform physical tasks such as line clearing, pounding stakes, setting monuments, and locating critical underground objects.
• Record field notes legibly and accurately while following Atwell's established Standard Operating Guidelines (SOP).
• Ensure survey crew performance and provide leadership to field crews
• Assist in project control by adhering to set project parameters.

• Coordinate required work with onsite contractors/client

• Recommend changes in design, specifications, budget, and schedule, consistent with project objectives.

Skills & Knowledge / Education and Experience:

• 3 years of experience is required.
• Demonstrate proficiency at the Survey Crew Chief level.
• Understand construction staking mathematics and measurements.
• Knowledge of Trimble Survey equipment.
• Able to read plans (i.e., construction documents, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, etc.).
• Knowledge of survey ethics and technical standards.
• Maintain a current driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to train and mentor Survey Technicians and other junior-level staff.
