Job Summary:


We are seeking a skilled and experienced sheet metal fabricating supervisor, responsible for our laser cutting, fabricating, and welding operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards while optimizing machine performance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the production process.


Responsibilities:

  • Production and Scheduling:

  • Oversee the set up and programming of laser cutters, brake presses, punch presses, turret presses, and welders in preparation of work order schedule.
  • Ensure equipment is staffed to meet production requirements.
  • Promote cross training and employee flexibility.
  • Strong organizational skills, including planning, scheduling, and prioritizing based on customers’ requirements.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and verify engineering drawings.
 
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to equipment.
  • Collaborate with the management team to implement preventative maintenance schedules.
 
  • Quality Control:

  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and correct any defects or discrepancies in the process.
  • Maintain accurate records of production runs and quality inspections.
 
  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety in the various processes.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to reduce waste and improve workflow.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in sheet metal fabrication technology and techniques.
 
  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to the promotion of a safety-first culture.


Requirements:


●       High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.●       Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sheet metal fabricating environment.●       Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., FabraWin, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).●       Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and machine maintenance.●       Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.●       Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.●       Strong communication and teamwork skills.●       Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.


Preferred Skills:


●       Advanced certification or training in laser cutting technology.●       Experience with other laser cutting equipment and technologies.●       Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.●       Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory management.●       Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.●       Basic spreadsheet/email computer skills.
