Core Responsibilities

  • Cross-functional Communication & Collaboration
  • Product Merchandise Management
  • Establish a Merchandising and Product Development Plan and Strategy
  • Introduce New Product Categories & Grow Business Partnership Opportunities
  • Strategize to Improve Productivity, Merchandising, Quality, and Efficiency of Product Development Operations
  • Oversee Production Process, New Product Roll Outs & Product Releases
  • Partner with Manufacturing Team to Oversee Manufacturing Productivity and Efficiency
  • Partner with Sales Team to Ensure Financial Goals are Met and Exceeded

Essential Functions

  • Lead Merchandising and Product Development Team(s) and defining brand aesthetic and product strategies to position the company for growth and profitability.
  • Establish control-related standards and procedures.
  • Support and drive the merchandising and product development process encompassing sample management, design aesthetic, quality, margin requirement, and time lines.
  • Support the review of prototypes to meet deadlines with a focus on product execution, consistency of details, and target margin.
  • Contributing to the Product Roadmap and translating the product vision and strategy into short term and long-term goals.
  • Identify potential risk to upper management and implementation resolutions.
  • Drive and enhance new SKU creation, images and existing SKU updates.
  • Merchandising for various lines of business, including but not limited to, Ecommerce B2B, Ecommerce B2C, and Direct Import products.
  • Create promotions to increase product visibility.
  • Own product development from inception to completion, including designs, trends, and the complete sample process.
  • Own product requirement definition and documentation that define product enhancements and development initiatives.
  • Recommend and implement best practice for areas of responsibility.
  • Continually provide insight into industry best practices, design trends, and content generation ideas.
  • Works with other functions to support new product launches, line extensions, and execution of continuous improvement programs for indirect goods and services in scope for the role.
  • Create and update cost sheets at each stage of merchandising and new product development.
  • Oversee Merchandising Team and ensure SKU addition metrics continue to improve while also managing requests to update existing SKUs and images.
  • Develops, communicates and drives merchandising strategies for new and emerging categories in order to exceed financial goals and customer expectations.
  • Develops an assortment strategy and position along with a pricing strategy that supports the financial objectives of the company and delivers a competitive edge.
