DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assessment of mental health needs, treatment planning, coordination and implementation of behavioral health services for patients.
  • Has thorough knowledge of current trends in local, state and federal programs in the behavioral healthcare field.
  • Responsible for the adherence and maintenance of Mental Health policies and procedures for the behavioral health program. Evaluates and assesses (provides intakes) for patients in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Performs counseling and crisis intervention as necessary.
  • Responsible to screen patients for prescription drug abuse, illicit drug abuse and alcohol abuse - Provide counseling to patients who screen positive or refer them to appropriate resources available in the service area.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Ability to effectively present information both orally and written, to administration

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • LCPC with a Masters degree from an accredited school required.
  • Licensed at least 2 years
  • Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields
  • Demonstrates excellent clinical skills
  • Evidence of mature judgment and crisis intervention skills
  • Computer literacy is required and ability to process patient records electronically.
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse team.
