Estimator - Paving

Job DescriptionJob Description

Estimator needed for fast paced construction business located on the North Shore of Long Island.

• Respond to and meet with potential customers
• Prepare, price, and send proposals
• Calculate area (usually square footage) and three-dimensional calculations as needed of proposed job using measuring wheel and other tools
• Follow up with potential customers and work to identify and secure new customers
• Travel to potential jobs around Long Island (and occasionally NYC)
• Ensure customer satisfaction including managing social media and reviews
• Liaison with customers, vendors, workers to coordinate project to ensure success
• Attend bid openings and represent company in a professional manner to all stakeholders and general public
• Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, property managers, business owners to create new customer streams
• Draft advertising plans to secure new and returning business
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Prior knowledge of measuring job areas (asphalt, concrete, pavers) preferred using a measuring wheel and other methods
• Ability to communicate effective in writing and verbally
• Basic computer and smartphone (texting) knowledge
• Must be able to drive throughout Long Island and occasionally NYC and visit job sites
• Retirees highly welcome
