Indus Cares Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting advances in medical care, health, and wellness education, and literacy for under-served children in the Houston community. Affiliated with Indus Management Group and Indus Communities, the foundation’s work is centered on its 38 apartment communities located mainly in the 77036 and 77081 zip codes of Houston.

Job Summary:

As the Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our monthly programs, reporting to the Indus Cares Program Manager. With your expertise and leadership, you will ensure that our programs run seamlessly and effectively, making a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve. A successful candidate for this position will have excellent organizational and communication skills and a passion for social service and community development. As the Program Coordinator, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.

· Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in program coordination.

· License/Certification(s): None

· Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

o Ability to think creatively and drive innovative problem solving. strong commitment to the mission of the Indus Cares Foundation and passion for serving our residents.

o Familiarity with the nonprofit, philanthropic and/or foundation sectors within Houston.

o Strong written and oral communication skills; written and verbal skills in English and Spanish required.

o Knowledge of various aspects of the education landscape including early childhood, K-12 public education; knowledge of the human and social services sector.

o Driven to support a positive organizational culture conducive to learning, growth, and continuous performance improvement.

o Background of working with other departments and working independently with a team remote.

o Strong project and time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks without sacrificing attention to details.

o Strong active-listening skills and the ability to tailor communications to diverse audiences.

o Strong quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills used to connect to the big picture, drive strategic thinking, and judge soundness of program requests.

o Proven background as a team player who strives to understand and deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

o Proficient computer skills and familiarity with database systems.

 

Principal Responsibilities continued:

o Creates announcements for the upcoming programs and events to be distributed to our residents.

o Enters announcements to go out to residents on a scheduled delivery.

o Serves as an on-site representative for the Indus Cares Foundation at all Indus Communities.

o Manages a small budget for purchasing items to support events or initiatives for Indus Cares.

o Visit Indus Communities to manage volunteers and/or staff to ensure that goals and standards are met for program/event success.

o Determines the route and weekly plan to visit program sites and volunteers.

o Assists with production of content to be used for Foundation’s social media pages and websites.

o Identifies program and service opportunities to better serve our residents within the mission of the Foundation.

o Identifies Indus Communities that have a need and can be assisted with the development of a program or service for the resident's needs.

o Assists with the production and execution of special events for Indus Cares/Indus Communities.

o Adapts responsibilities to the tasks required by the Program Manager or Board of Directors of Indus Cares.

o Other duties as assigned.
