Job description

Electricians and Apprentice Wanted

Unified Power is looking to hire dependable, experienced, electricians and apprentice to work in the DC, Maryland, & Virginia areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, install and repair 120/208-volt and 277/480-volt electrical power distribution systems including electrical switchgear, generators, UPS systems, transformers, feeders, panels, branch circuits, motors, lighting, and troubleshooting systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, basic schematics, and diagrams.
  • Performing in the field under supervision of foreman/project manager.
  • Being on time to work & working a full shift.
  • Availability to travel, work overtime, off-hours, and weekends as needed.
  • Uses general knowledge of building codes, NEC electrical code, regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Lift up to 50lbs if needed.
  • Climb various ladders and steps.
  • Repetitive motions and flexibility: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement (Walk extensively throughout the field during shift).
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Requires the ability to interact with clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Qualifications & Expectations:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and acquire a clearance.
  • Vocational school or education training (preferred).
  • Journeyman electrical license or certificate (preferred).
