VACCO Industries is looking for a dynamic individual to fill this very important role in our Material Planning department.

 

SUMMARY:

The Senior Planner will work closely with the operations team to plan, execute and monitor all aspects of material planning for their respective product line. The Senior Planner is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support production. The Senior Planner is also responsible for planning and scheduling "make to order" parts based on demand and forecast.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage timely work order and requisition review and releases for product line

Manage plant inventory levels for assigned projects which includes ordering the correct quantities, determining the appropriate lead times, tracking the available storage space, and identifying inventory discrepancy solutions

Create and generate required work orders and requisitions to make or buy required piece parts for subassemblies and assemblies for assigned projects.

Prioritize, expedite, and schedule work centers by coordinating with operations team and master scheduler.

Process ECN's (Engineering Change Notices).

Negotiate schedule deviations and priority with Contracts, Quality, Shop and Project Managers.

Create and process documents, as needed, to support the product lines i.e. MRBs, Lot Deviations, ECOs, Part Activation Forms, Bill of Material changes, Router/Job Pull Sheet updates, etc.

Maintain documents in a manner suitable to support and comply with the department standard operating procedures, as well as the Company and GMP/ISO/CFR standards.

Protect data integrity through coordinating with various functions to validate accurate parameter updates.

Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of five (5) years experience in planning and scheduling in an Aerospace manufacturing environment. Minimum five (5) years experience using an integrated MRP/ERP system required. Possess excellent verbal communication skills both verbal and written, to support effective correspondence with internal as well as external customers. Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks to completion. Ability to interact with various internal departments. Aggressive goal setting abilities while working in a team environment. Ability to read and interpret Blueprint drawings and specifications. Proficiency using MS Office software i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook. CPIM certification is preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A BA/BS degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in an Aerospace Manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
