We are currently seeking a qualified Healthcare Construction Inspector with quality assurance experience in the San Antonio market. Candidates must have a minimum of 10+ years’ experience working on commercial construction projects.

IMMEDIATE HIRE FOR QUALIFIED CANDIDATES

Job Summary:

The Construction Inspector will maintain a constant presence on the project to include non-standard times when the design team, general contractor, subcontractor, or regulatory agencies are on site, and when construction activities are underway. During the construction phase, the construction inspector will meet with Owner staff and the project team as conditions and construction activities dictate. The construction inspector will attend project meetings and ensure thorough communications are in place to discuss any potential project challenges.

· Attending all pre-construction meetings and regular on-site construction meetings and representing the Owner’s interests.

· Conducting daily observations of construction work for compliance with approved contract drawings, specifications, Requests for Information, change orders, and shop drawings.

· Issuing observation reports, noting conditions of non-compliance with reference to detailed drawings and specifications sections and photographs if appropriate. Recommending the formal rejection of non-compliant work to the PM(s) and the Owner.

· Monitoring and documenting the CM/GC’s SWPPP best management practices and notifications. Providing written notices of non-compliance to CM/GC and informing Owner.

· Coordinating with facilities and operations staff as needed when utility outages, noise control, traffic control or security are required for the project.

· Ensuring that required submittals have been fully approved before work is allowed to commence or continue.

· Reviewing the CM’s onsite project documentation for compliance with the contract, QAQC plan and jurisdictional requirements.

· Reviewing monthly contractor payment applications to confirm claimed percent complete by trades.

· Facilitate and coordinate QA/QC required testing.

· Conducting on-site surveys of stored material claimed for payment to ensure compliance with all requirements including documentation and physical security.

· Assisting project managers in resolving construction issues.

· Reviewing with Owner, staff and CM/GC superintendents issues with work progress or compliance.

· Review equipment utilization data and time/cost estimates for reasonableness and compliance with contract requirements.

· Verifying unit priced quantities and validating with claimed amounts for billing.

· Maintaining a daily activity diary of a project’s work in progress and status of completion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field; preferred (not required). Years of experience may be substituted for education.

· 10+ years of experience in commercial university hospital construction projects required.

· Advanced understanding of construction documents required.

· Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
