Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Perform patient screenings, including assessing oral health, reviewing medical histories, and performing head and neck examinations.
  • Dental Cleanings: Conduct thorough teeth cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.
  • X-rays: Take digital dental x-rays to assist in the diagnosis of dental issues.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of preventive care.
  • Assistance: Assist the dentist during various procedures and with patient management.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.
  • Sterilization: Ensure that all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and prepared for use.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Active Oregon state licensure as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Skills:
    • Strong clinical skills in patient care, dental cleanings, and x-ray procedures.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to educate and motivate patients regarding their oral health.
  • Attributes:
    • Compassionate, patient-focused, and detail-oriented.
    • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
