Reports to: Accounting Manager

Overview:

Our company is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling day-to-day financial transactions, and supporting the financial management processes of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial documents such as balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and other reports.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and receipts.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile all ledgers.
  • Assist with payroll processing and verify that all amounts are accurate and properly accounted for.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports and help with month-end closing processes.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls and participating in financial audits.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and improve financial efficiency.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably within a mid-sized or large company.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop as well as Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
