ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential duties include the following. Other duties relative to the operations, upkeep and/or maintenance of the service center may be assigned.

  • Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs routine service on vehicles
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Road tests vehicles when required.
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts and properly returns unused parts.
  • Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
  • Keeps customer cars clean and notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
  • Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
  • Participates in training programs, schools, and events
  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership owned tools and manuals.
  • Follows all other instruction and requests of manager/supervisor.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

The right candidate will have:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical ASE certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Team player mentality
  • Great work ethic
  • Positive attitude
  • Desire to grow and succeed
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screens
