Construction Controller

Who We Are:

CFS is working with a local construction company, seeking a Controller for their team.

What You'll Do:

• Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash flow management, and job costing.
• Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Partner with project managers and other departments to create and monitor budgets and forecasts, identifying and mitigating potential financial risks.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with detailed reporting and analysis for informed decision-making.
• Manage the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Oversee tax compliance and work closely with external auditors during annual audits.
• Provide support for weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Review monthly billings and sign lien waivers.
• Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices in construction accounting.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems for increased efficiency and cost savings.
• Manage a team of accounting personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience. Public accounting experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing.
• Proficient in accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
