Jazz/Hip Hop Instructor

Premier Academy of the Performing is seeking dance instructors to join our amazing faculty. Our studio is located in Avon, Indiana, just west of Indianapolis. We are looking for dance teachers who have a passion for the arts, enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities, and want to be part of an amazing team We pride ourselves in offering quality instruction in a family-friendly environment.

We have openings for a jazz/hip hop teacher. We are looking for an individual that will help bring out the best in our dancers and help us take them to the next level. Position begins immediately. The dance season runs from August-June.

Responsibilities:

• Plan dance classes assigned by the studio
• Coach students collectively and offer individual guidance
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate particular needs
• Monitor individual students’ progress
• Choreograph, rehearse, and put on two shows per class each year

Necessary Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior teaching experience preferred
• Familiarity with a wide array of dance styles
• Ability to control class-size groups of children
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to demonstrate skills in class
• Able to pass a drug test and background check

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong dance background and post-high school dance training preferred
• Certification(s) in specific types of dance beneficial
• Evening and weekend availability
