Role Overview: As a Commercialization Chef with us, you'll play a pivotal role in our success by leading recipe development, costing, scaling recipes for large-scale manufacturing, and ensuring compliance with FDA labeling and allergen laws. You'll work closely with our operations team to maintain high product consistency and quality, while also creating ingredient statements and documentation. This is a full-time, on-site position located in the heart of Kansas City, KS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine recipes for ready-to-eat mealsCost recipes accurately and adjust for mass productionScale recipes for efficient manufacturing processesEnsure compliance with FDA labeling and allergen regulationsMaintain detailed ingredient and recipe documentationCollaborate with operations for consistent product qualitySource high-quality ingredients at competitive pricesUtilize recipe software for planning and nutritional analysisNegotiate effectively with suppliers for favorable pricing

Qualifications:

  • Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent experienceProven experience in high-volume food productionStrong knowledge of FDA labeling and allergen lawsAbility to create and modify recipes for mass productionExceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsUnderstanding of nutrition and health-conscious recipe developmentTeam player with the ability to collaborate across departmentsFamiliarity with commercializing frozen and fresh meals
