Building Maintenance Mechanic

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Building Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for completing all maintenance and engineering duties and repairs all furniture and equipment, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, windows, flooring, locks, painting, and other aspects of the Clubhouse, company homes and other structures.

Essential Functions:
- Performs various maintenance tasks including but not limited to painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work (where a licensed contractor is not required).
- Coordinates and monitors all work done by external contractors and communicates status of each project to the Director of Grounds and Facilities.
- Maintains inventory of maintenance repair supplies, parts and items needed for the completion of work orders.
- Works with Director of Grounds and Facilities to coordinate remodeling of Club areas.
- Assists in checking fire protection systems for proper operation.
- Assists with the Club's ongoing preventive maintenance program for electric, plumbing, roofing, elevators, and all Club buildings.
- Completes maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Assists with preparations of special functions, parties, tournaments, etc., by installing decorations and/or making display pieces as requested by managers.
- Makes recommendations regarding necessary capital expenditures and special maintenance and repair improvements.
- Participates in ongoing facility inspections throughout the Club to ensure that cleanliness, safety, and other standards are consistently met.
- Keeps maintenance supply room always organized and clean.
- Ensures a highly efficient safety program emphasizing awareness, discipline, and compliance.
- Implements an overall safety program that conforms to OSHA standards.
- Performs other duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Additional certifications are appreciated
Required Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in maintenance.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to speak and understand the predominant language of our Members and Guests
- Must be a team player with a strong customer service orientation
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must be able to regularly lift upwards of 10 pounds, frequently lift upwards of 50 pounds, occasionally lift upwards of 100 pounds.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, and reach
- Must have use of both hands and arms
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception
- The ability to adjust vision focus for working on electrical wiring, pump repair, and electrical motor repair
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, indoor & outdoor
- Must be able to work day, evening, weekend and holiday hours
