Lead Montessori Toddler Teacher

The Alphabets Montessori School is seeking a Lead Montessori Teacher that direct his/her students’ activities academically, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach their fullest potential in these developmental areas, in accordance with the Montessori philosophy and procedures for the age group in which the Montessori credential is held.
Qualifications
Lead Guides should have a Montessori credential from an internationally or nationally recognized Montessori organization for the level in which they teach. Good interpersonal skills are necessary. The Lead Guide should have the ability to work not only with children but with parents and other staff members as well. A positive and open attitude toward all children is required.
Job Responsibilities
● Health and Safety of all the students in your care and in the school. *Please note that you are a mandated reporter*
● Presenting the Montessori Pedagogy with care and authenticity to students and parents.
● Preparation of the classroom environment, materials, and equipment; ensures that materials are in good repair and all sets are complete. Develops and makes materials when needed.
● Maintaining neat and presentable Montessori materials and activities for the students.
● Plan and implement the Montessori curriculum. Give appropriate presentations and establish a record keeping system to track children’s progress.
● Supervise the classroom Assistant Guide, floaters, volunteers, substitutes, and parent volunteers. Provide necessary instruction and training for those assisting in the classroom environment.
● Conduct Parent-Teacher Conferences. Conferences can be done in-person, zoom, or phone if needed. Preferably in-person.
● All Lead Guides are to do a two-week check in with all the parents of new students. This can be done by phone or zoom meeting.
● Observations-Teachers should observe their students working, to be able to effectively plan for next lessons and developmental progress
● Ensure respectful and open lines of communication with parents. Be available to parents through written communication, setting up conferences, and educating parents about the
Montessori pedagogy.
● Assist in the planning and maintenance of the outdoor equipment.
● Plan and host Parent Education events twice per year.
● Assess prospective children when they visit the school.
● Provide first aid as needed and complete appropriate forms for parents.
● Comply with all continuing education requirements.
● Attend all faculty meetings and scheduled events.
● Be a community leader, responsible for the school in the absence of the Administrator
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
