Summary of Position:

The primary responsibility of this position is to assemble scanning systems in accordance with mechanical drawings and work instructions. A senior technician will be expected to be a leader in excellence to their peers, and be proficient in all aspects of the production process. This person should have an ability to work well with others, be a self-starter, and have strong attention to detail.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and test mechanical sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and systems
  • Build, test, and configure PC systems
  • Configure system hardware, software, and firmware to meet customer needs
  • Train and lead an assembly team as necessary
  • Troubleshoot problems and devise innovative and business-conscious solutions
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, and implement the same when appropriate
  • Maintain a clean and well organized production area
  • Maintain inventory and inventory control
  • Create, maintain, and follow documentation and procedures
  • Assist with shipping and receiving
  • Complete duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship

Qualifications:

  • Education: Highschool or Equivalent; Associates/Technical Degree (preferred)
  • Professional Experience: Technical Assembly or Similar – 5+ Years (preferred)
  • Experience using hand and power tools, and light machinery (preferred)
  • PC networking experience (preferred)
  • Proficient with inventory control systems

  • Capable of working independently to a production schedule

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements of the Job:

  • Lifting - Must be able to frequently move and lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Grasping - Must be able to pick up objects with fingers
  • Reaching - Must be able to regularly use hands and arms to reach for objects.
  • Standing or Sitting - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
  • Fine motor skills and ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Vision capabilities, including depth perception, attention to detail, and color
  • Engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts/part containers.
