- Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role within the feed or pet food industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Experience with packaging materials and suppliers.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is desirable.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives and ensure a consistent supply of materials and products.
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure the best possible pricing and quality.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and sales teams to forecast needs and ensure optimal stock levels.
- Analyze market trends and supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost control measures without compromising on quality.
- Ensure that all purchased materials and products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular supplier audits and quality checks.
- Source and manage packaging materials, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of the feed or pet food products. Stay updated on the latest packaging innovations and regulations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
- Work closely with R&D, production, quality assurance, and marketing teams to align procurement activities with product development and business goals.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
