Industrial Electrical Services, Inc., a seasoned Industrial & Commercial electrical contractor established in 1980, is growing and we have an opportunity for an experienced estimator, who wants the opportunity to move up to the next level, with the following experience:

Estimator

Summary:

We are a Design/Build Electrical Contractor performing work primarily for Municipal Water and Wastewater Projects and Manufacturing and Industrial facilities. We have a 7/24 Service department, Water/Wastewater Utility department and Construction department.

Duties & Responsibilities: Must be capable of finding new projects in Civcast and Amtek. Typically, most of our projects are Municipal Water and Wastewater. With some light industrial projects. The projects normally range in size from $3k to $3MM. All work is usually within a 50-mile radius of downtown Houston. Obtain bid documents, perform a contract review and complete take-offs. Must be able to compile material and labor pricing. Develop contingency and mark-ups with management. Perform the bid submittal and negotiations. Conduct a project handoff. Perform a review of completed projects for comment and adjustment.

Qualifications: Must have at least 5 years of experience in estimating preferably with some water/wastewater experience. A Design/Build self-starter with a minimum of 5-years estimating experience preferably in the wastewater/dump station, heavy commercial and light industrial sectors utilizing Accubid.  Understands cost analysis, labor to market risk ratios in determining the correct mark-up on each project.  Comprehension skills to fully understand bid documents in determining whether we should bid a project.  Must be capable of reviewing and independently prioritize which projects to bid from all available on CIVCAST. Must be proficient in estimating software. Accubid experience is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Applications. Must be able to have and maintain an excellent working relationship with local GC’s. Previous Management experience is a Plus Candidate should have experience of working in the field. Must have knowledge and excellent working relationship with material vendors and subs. A current, valid TDLR Journeyman’s electrician’s license is a plus.
