Companion/ Personal Care Aide

We are looking for an empathetic and reliable Companion to provide support and companionship to individuals in their day-to-day life. In this role, you will help them with personal hygiene tasks, perform light housekeeping, prepare meals, and remind them to take their prescribed medications. However, your main goal is to keep them company engaging them in conversation and safely transporting to and from social activities. This job can be challenging, so applicants who have experience caring for the elderly, disabled or people with developmental disabilities are preferred. Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN positions are available.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide conversation and personal engagement
- Prepare meals
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including changing linens, vacuuming, doing dishes, and taking out trash
- Remind them to take their medications
- Transport them to and from doctor appointments, errands, and social activities
- Provide routine individualized care to the elderly, convalescents, or persons with disabilities
- Monitor and report changes in patient health status
- Provide specialized healthcare such as administering medication and changing bandages
- Teach family members ways to care for patient
- Assist clients with personal activities such as bathing, oral hygiene, preparing and consuming meals, dressing and undressing, and ambulation
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid state-issued drivers license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance required
- Must have CPR and First-Aid, TB test or Chest X-Ray.
- Professional certification such as CNA, PCA, HHA, Medication aide preferred, not required
- Minimum one year of experience working in a health care setting preferred
- Light housekeeping or cooking skills a plus
- Ability to pass background check
