The Role

A production artist produces graphic materials, catalogs, advertising projects, etc. in line with organizational branding goals. The Production Artist is involved with each step of the artistic and design process, such as reviewing graphics, layouts, and fonts, finalizing designs, and fixing, improving, and editing designs. They must have an excellent eye for design, graphics, detail, and aesthetics and use both technical and creative skills to create a finished product. Production Artists are skilled spot checkers, taste testers and quality assurers of graphics design.

Responsibilities:

• Creates and manipulates graphics through Adobe Creative Suite apps such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

• Formats and reviews graphics, layouts, fonts, and final copy before designs are completed.

• Assist design teams with producing print, packaging, advertising, point-of-purchase, and digital graphics.

• Assesses project specifications and creates a final product that adheres to those requirements.

• Collaborates with Art Director and the design team staff to refine design specifications.

• Follows the product workflow and timeline to ensure projects progress in a timely manner.

• Ensures brand quality standards across color, font, production quality, etc. are met.

• Scales, crops, changes layout and eliminates redundancy in copy.

• Coordinates image needs including renaming, resizing, generating links, and placing on templates.

• Collects and catalogues produced images and graphics for future projects.

• Prepares press-ready files based on the supplied specifications.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in design, visual arts, marketing, or equivalent field experience.

• Expert knowledge and proficiency using graphic design tools.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite apps such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

• Highly detail oriented with exemplary organizational skills required.

• Excellent ability to meet deadlines and manage tasks under stress.

• Strong analytical, time management, project management, and multitasking skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Adaptable and ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
