Director of Day Services

A. SUMMARY:
Plans, directs, and supervises the daily operation of systems for the Day Program and Vocational Services. Establishes guidelines and policies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. Fosters and encourages innovative programs and opportunities for participants of the day habilitation and vocational programs.
B. POSITION DUTIES:
1. Ensures that quality of care is consistently maintained.
2. Ensures accurate and timely billing and maintenance of supporting documentation. Monitors the program census and markets services as appropriate to ensure maximum utilization.
3. Assists in the development of policies, procedures and methods of operation in accordance with Federal, State, City and agency regulations.
4. Develops the program budgets and monitors all expenditures in accordance with budgeting guidelines.
5. Coordinates the incident review process within the facility.
6. Ensures that records are maintained in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
7. Coordinates the admission process for all individuals seeking service and placement.
8. Provides oversight for the daily operations of all services provided and monitors the Day Hab and Vocational programs to ensure that quality of service is consistently maintained. Ensures that all individuals receiving services are working on Age Appropriate Goals and activities.
9. Ensures that staff receive appropriate training in accordance with regulatory guidelines, best practices and new visions for the program.
10. Interviews, hires, evaluates, and supervises staff. Reviews staff time and attendance, recognizes staff and disciplines as appropriate.
11. Act as the lead person when working with non-agency stakeholders pertaining to OPWDD/SEMP programs and activities. Stakeholders include but not limited to OPWDD personnel, service recipients and significant others.
12. Ensures that individuals receiving services are assessed as appropriate and that identified outcomes in the areas of day and vocational services reflect the person’s choices consistent with the practices of person centered planning.
13. Creates ties to the community and opportunities for those receiving services to volunteer and work competitively with non-disabled community members.
14. Performs all other duties assigned.
C. REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree, MS Preferred with 3 to 5 years of experience
2. Thorough knowledge of day habilitation (690) regulations.
3. Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all appliance laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency's corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protection and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews.
