DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct onsite inspections and document existing conditions; perform field testing, photographic documentation, creation of hand/field sketches, and observe & evaluate work in progress.
  • Verify quantities of work performed to ensure percentages are complete and consistent with contractor billings.
  • Perform, observe, and document testing protocols and work in progress.
  • Work closely with other team members to understand the scope of work, budget, goals, deliverables, and timeline to ensure project success.
  • Record field measurements and perform basic calculations.
  • Organize field data to facilitate analysis and problem-solving.
  • Proactively monitor work progress, schedule, and budget to ensure all targets are met.
  • An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. This position requires visual acuity and listening ability; individuals must be agile to operate typical office equipment, field equipment, and ladders.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage own workflows.
  • Effective organization and planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish strong working relationships with other team members, Owners/Clients, Consultants, Vendors and Contractors
  • Review all Payment Applications, Change Orders, Extensions of Time, RFIs, etc., for accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations and field conditions.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and schedules.

This position entails no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in civil/structural engineering, architecture, or something related.

Work Experience

  • Strong interest in working onsite, preferred field experience.

Licenses & Certifications

  • A valid United States Driver's License is required, as this position requires travel to and from client sites.

Skills

  • Fair technical written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Good organizational skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Height and Access Equipment

  • Safe operation and use of ladders, scaffolds, and other access equipment as required.
  • Ability to work safely at heights.

Outdoor Environment

  • Exposure to prolonged periods outdoors, which might extend beyond 3 hours.
