We are looking for someone who has at least 5+ years of Manual Conventional Machinist (Mills and Lathe) in a manufacturing environment.

Job Title: Conventional Machinist
Location: Chino, CA
Duration: Temp-to-Hire
Work schedule: 1st shift 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate a variety of manual machining tools and equipment, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, calipers, saws, and more, to perform tasks to assemble large industrial mixing equipment (example: large kitchen mixer, but industrial size)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to understand component requirements, scale and dimensions.
  • Select appropriate materials for machining and ensure they are securely and safely loaded into machines.
  • Choose the right cutting tools, fixtures, and accessories for each machining operation, considering material type and complexity of the job.
  • Use precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers or micrometers) to inspect workpieces, ensuring they meet specified quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machining equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of machining activities, including setup details, tool changes, inspection results, and any deviations from specifications.
  • Will work independently with little to no supervision for assignments. However, you will work in a small shop with manager, foreman, and other team members to help you understand project requirements and provide input on design feasibility and manufacturability.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience as a conventional machinist, particularly with large industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Strong knowledge of machining principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Ability to operate various machining equipment effectively.
  • Familiarity with different materials and their machining characteristics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Positive attitude, teamwork, and work under pressure.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • May be required to stand for long periods of time.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers.
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold.
