Job DescriptionJob Description

Castelblanco Law Group, APLC (CLG) is looking to hire a Tenant Rights Sales Associate who will work closely with the rest of the sales team in our firm and will be supervised by the Client Liaison. As a successful hire, you will help the sales team identify and cultivate new cases, assist clients with navigating appropriate governmental agencies, document housing conditions, and promote interest in our firm by means of internal and external events.

 

To be chosen for this position, you must have excellent customer service/people skills and superior verbal communication skills in Spanish, as our firm represents Spanish-speaking clients, and 95% of our sales are done in Spanish. A high level of attention to detail and effective teamwork skills are keys to success in this position. Prior work experience in sales, community organizing or client advocacy is preferred. An awareness of Los Angeles housing issues and interest in issues affecting the Latino community is also a plus.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Answer and screen first time callers to identify potential new cases or cultivate these calls into possible cases.
  • Work closely with Receptionist to track and document a database of first time callers to ensure proper follow up.
  • Promote and staff CLG Community Seminars and outside community events as needed.
  • Assist clients with navigating appropriate governmental agencies.
  • Prepare and accompany clients during inspections and translate when necessary.
  • Visit potential new buildings/cases and maintain proper follow-up.
  • Document on-site housing conditions through photos, video and notes.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service or people skills.
  • Exceptional Spanish language skills
  • Ability to work with diverse monolingual Spanish speakers in economically disadvantaged communities.
  • Ability to synthesize complex legal information for all to understand.
  • Basic understanding of Los Angeles’s Housing Crisis and tenant rights landscape.
  • Basic understanding of California tenant rights law
  • Basic understanding of Governmental Agency departments such as Environmental Health Dept., Building & Safety, and Code Enforcement Dept. etc.
