SURVEY CAD TECHNICIAN


OolaHR is in search of a Survey CAD Technician in the Gainesville area


The majority of our work consists of “High-volume Residential Builder Services” and includes setting lot corners, collecting topo and locating utilities on newly platted vacant lots, house staking, form board checks, foundation and final title surveys.


Job Description/Primary Function:


  • Must have knowledge of and be able to successfully operate AutoCAD Civil3D in the efficient preparation of digital mapping products that accurately depict the results of all surveys performed (boundary, topographic, construction layout, as-built, quantity, control, special purpose, etc.); Occasional field activities to observe and collect data (measurements and observations) and/or verify previously acquired data may be required from time to time.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Interpret field crew notes
  • Analyze and process survey data (conventional and GPS)
  • Develop detailed survey drawings with AutoCAD/Civil 3D
  • Perform deed analysis and prepare working sketches
  • Perform coordinate geometry calculations
  • Compute data points for construction layout
  • Import and export of data in various formats
  • Daily interaction with field personnel to acquire notes and data and monitor progress
  • Visit sites to gather physical evidence and survey data as required from time to
  • Confer by telephone, writing, or in person with surveyors, crew chiefs, clients, colleagues, public officials, contractors, and others from time to time as required
  • Performs drafting of portions of routine projects under the direction of project surveyor


Experience and Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and have own transportation to and from work.
  • Field experience working with a survey crew as well as previous experience working as an in-office survey technician
  • Must possess the ability to take personal initiative and maintain confidentiality of work assignments
  • Ability to read and understand maps, legal descriptions, deeds and construction plans
  • Must be a Team player who is self-motivated but can work independently as needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task on multiple assigned projects
  • Familiarity with the Florida Standards of Practice and the Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys helpful


Compensation/Benefits:


  • $18.00/hour to $30.00/hour (based on experience)
  • Six paid holidays
