Location: Riverside County, Orange County, Los Angeles

We have an immediate need for Archaeologists, with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in providing archaeological field monitoring.   

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Archaeological survey and construction monitoring, experience required.
  • Additional experience with archaeological excavation testing and data recovery preferred.
  • Map and site recordation on Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) 523 series forms; including site mapping, photography, and descriptions.  
  • Prepare monitoring daily logs and summaries.

Desired skill and Expertise:

  • Excellent and proactive verbal communication skills required.
  • Demonstrates initiative, independent thinking, good problem-solving skills, excellent field skills and educational background in specific discipline.

Education and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in conducting surveys and/or monitoring tasks described above.
  • Bachelors in Archaeology, Anthropology or a closely related field.
  • Experience using GPS technology.
