We are recruiting for a Shop Foreman in our Raleigh, NC facility. Our Shop Foreman lead the charge in the shop, managing our largest group of employees, and act as the final stop on the build journey every projects goes through. They help us all get to YES

Some nuts and bolts about the job:

  • Scheduling and supervise shop production staff
  • Maintain a pro-active labor plan (building a better team for tomorrow)
  • Proactively work with production leadership team to drive shop process improvement and implementation
  • Oversee maintenance of shop equipment
  • Direct management of the shop leads, co-leads, builders - includes hiring, coaching, development, corrective action
  • Responsible for shop safety training and ongoing safety needs
  • Resolving work problems and making recommendations for improvement
  • Oversee department administration, replenishment of materials, authorization of expenses, timesheets, facility wide purchasing
  • Pro-active communication and leadership for individual project teams (AD, AM, PM, designer, detailer)

We are an energetic and creative bunch and have high expectations for all of our employees. In addition to being fun to work with, we would like to hire someone with the following experience, skills, and attributes:

  • 7 years of experience as a builder in the custom exhibit/event industry or a very similar industry (millwork, cabinetry)
  • 3 years of leadership experience
  • Extensive knowledge of exhibit industry practices and procedures—experience as the being known as the best builder is a plus. Safe operation of hand and power and standard fabrication tools and equipment, knowledge and understanding of building and electrical requirements
  • On-site supervision experience
  • Has to be an awesome, empathetic, flexible communicator
  • Ability to effectively manage/coordinate simultaneous projects and successfully prioritize multiple tasks using good judgment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work long hours as needed
