Job Summary:

  • The Lab Assistant I and II will accession patient sample information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), accurately according to received requisitions.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Review all information is accurate and meets company and regulatory standards.
  • Accepts deliveries from couriers.
  • Accession patient sample information and physician test orders according to requisitions, accurately.
  • Verify required information, per HIPPA/CAP/CLIA, is obtained on all orders.
  • Identify missing information and execute proper route when missing information is identified.
  • Scan patient requisitions for medical records.
  • Maintain an error rate below .10% with a goal of zero errors per month.

Qualifications:

Education –

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Competencies/Skills –
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentially of all medical, financial, and legal information.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Experience –

  • 6 months experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience working with MS Office Suite, required.
  • 2 years HealthTrackRx experience needed for advancement to Lab Assistant II
