About Our Client

Our client is an Integrative Medicine practice based in Knoxville and known for offering “The Whole Patient Experience.” They’re leading the way in holistic medicine from advanced diagnostic testing, integrative care plans, hormone replacement therapies, IV infusion services, and integrative oncology support. They also specialize in pediatric care, using cutting-edge treatments to diagnose and treat complex health conditions, including those on the autism spectrum, mold toxicity, gut health, and vaccine choice support. They believe health and beauty go hand-in-hand, which is why they even have highly trained staff that offer aesthetic procedures such as BOTOX injections, dermal fillers, hydrafacials, and laser treatments. The Opportunity

Our client is looking for an exceptional Physician Assistant/Physician Associate to expand their ability to provide patients memorable healthcare experiences. Sharp, caring, and proactive, the ideal candidate will be the quarterback of collaborative patient care teams. You’ll provide lifecycle health and wellness care for patients with a wide range of chronic illnesses and complex diseases, as well as patients interested in enhancing their wellness. Responsibilities and Opportunities to Serve

You’ll play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients, including:

  • Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests to help diagnose illnesses or injuries.
  • Treatment Planning: Based on their assessments and in collaboration with the supervising physician and other healthcare team members, develop treatment plans that may include a combination of conventional medical treatments, complementary therapies, and lifestyle modifications tailored to the patient’s holistic needs.
  • Prescribing Medications and Therapies: Prescribe medications, including both conventional pharmaceuticals and natural remedies, as well as recommend therapy modalities that align with the practice’s approach.
  • Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: Educate patients about healthy lifestyle choices, preventive measures, and holistic approaches to maintaining overall well-being. This may include counseling on nutrition, exercise, stress management, and other aspects of holistic health.
  • Collaboration and Referral: Work closely with other healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and alternative medicine practitioners, to ensure coordinated care for patients. You may also refer patients to specialists or holistic practitioners outside of the practice when necessary.
  • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for your patients’ holistic health needs, ensuring that their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being are all taken into consideration in the care planning process.
  • Continuing Education and Research: Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in both conventional and holistic medicine through continuing education and participation in research studies. Integrate evidence-based holistic practices into patient care.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Licensure in TN: Licensure to practice in the state of Tennessee or ability to receive it.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience
  • Clinical Skills: Proficiency in conducting thorough patient assessments, diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, and providing comprehensive care.
  • Continuing Education: Commitment to ongoing education and professional development to stay abreast of advancements in both conventional and holistic medicine.
  • Cultural Competence: Ability to blend in seamlessly with an existing practice culture. Sensitivity to cultural beliefs, practices, and preferences related to health and healing, as well as the ability to integrate cultural considerations into patient care. Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Holistic Orientation: Understanding of Integrative Medicine principles, knowledge of related services a plus
  • Core Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organization and time management skills
  • Technical Fluency: General knowledge of practice software. Experience using an electronic medical record system (EMR/EHR and a CRM is a plus, but not required
