Industrial Machinery Technician Job Description

Pay

Starting between $25 and $28, DOE. Advancement opportunities are available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble machinery
  • Assemble new machinery gantries and portable presses
  • Fabricate and machine parts as needed
  • Wire up motors, control panels, safety systems
  • Prep and paint finished products
  • Prepare items for shipping
  • Load/unload trucks if designated
  • Produce timely and detailed labor reports
  • Effectively Manage time and resources effectively to meet deadlines and ensure quality
  • Maintain an organized account of parts and materials used
  • Keep tools and equipment organized and properly maintained
  • Asist other production teams as needed

Requirements:

  • Expert mechanical background
    • Working with mechanical drive components, bearings, sprockets, chains, loading, unloading, and moving heavy industrial equipment.
  • Advanced use of shop equipment
    • Band saw, ironworker, drill press, mill, lathe
  • Fabrication, machining, and MIG welding
  • Electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic
  • Ability to perform physical work including the ability to lift at least 50-70 pounds
  • General hand and power tool experience
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to drive a forklift and use lifting devices
  • Must practice personal and environmental safety on the job using protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, etc.
  • Interact and work professionally with customers and team members

Job Type: Full-time

Required education:

  • High school or equivalent
  • Further technical education is desired

Required experience:

  • Mechanical, assembly: 5 years
  • General Labor: 5 years
