Reports To: Doula Administrator

Job Summary: The Full-Time Community-Based Doula provides comprehensive support to expectant and postpartum families through direct doula services and community outreach initiatives. This role involves managing a caseload of clients referred by clinics, offering prenatal, labor, and postpartum support, and actively engaging in community outreach to promote maternal health and doula services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Support:

    • Provide prenatal, labor, and postpartum doula services to clients, including emotional support, educational guidance, and physical assistance.

    • Conduct initial assessments, create individualized care plans, and facilitate regular check-ins.

    • Offer continuous labor support and assist with birth planning and postpartum care.

  • Case Management:

    • Manage a caseload of approximately 24 clients per month, ensuring timely follow-ups and support.

    • Coordinate with clinics and healthcare providers to address client needs and facilitate seamless care.

    • Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation.

  • Community Outreach:

    • Develop and implement outreach strategies to raise awareness about doula services and maternal health in the community.

    • Conduct informational sessions, workshops, and presentations to educate the public about the benefits of doula support.

    • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Schedule and conduct client meetings, including prenatal visits, labor support, and postpartum follow-ups.

    • Handle client communication via phone, email, and in-person meetings.

    • Prepare and submit reports as required, including client progress and outreach activities.

Qualifications:

  • Trained/Certification as a doula

  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly desirable.

  • Previous experience in community-based doula services or work within nonprofit preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and maintain detailed records.

  • Proficiency in community outreach and engagement strategies.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: $25 an hour
