Church Nursery Attendant

St Paul Lutheran Church is seeking a nursery attendant for 4 hours on Sunday mornings from June-September and 2 hours during July and August as well as during special events and Services. For full job description and details, see the church website: stpauleastwindsor.org
Responsibilities:
- Provide quality childcare for infants and children kindergarten age and under during Sunday worship, ages 3 and under during the Education Hour, and varied ages during other designated worship services and congregational events.
- Generate a comfortable and safe environment for the children.
- Actively interact and play with the children (e.g. read to the children, play on the floor with the children).
- Greet parents/guardians upon arrival and clearly communicate any information or concerns to them.
- Work with scheduled volunteers as needed.
- Provide compassionate care and constant supervision of the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the children in the nursery.
- Maintain the nursery space including the cleanliness of toys, books, and puzzles.
- Keep necessary records including but not limited to parental updates and nursery sign-in and sign-out procedures.
- Personal use of cell phones while attending the children is prohibited.
The attendant is not required to:
- Recruit supplementary assistance. The attendant will inform the Nursery Coordinator when this situation arises.
- Change diapers or assist with toileting clean-up in the bathroom. The parent/guardian should be notified. The attendant may need to provide some bathroom assistance as needed.
Qualifications:
(1) 18 years of age or older.
(2) High school diploma or equivalent.
(3) Must be legally authorized to work in the US and have reliable transportation.
(4) Satisfactory completion of all required background checks.
(5) Current Infant/Child CPR and first aid certification or willingness to be certified.
(6) Two non-family references.
(7) Vaccinations up to date including COVID.
(8) Experienced in the care of infants and children under age 5 with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities and characteristics.
