A stable and rapidly growing truck and trailer repair shop has an opportunity for experienced diesel technicians. We work on all makes and models and take pride in our work quality and rely on repeat customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostics and repair of light, medium and heavy-duty trucks, buses, emergency vehicles, and other motor vehicles and trailers
  • Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs within the industry standard time
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives
  • Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely fashion
  • Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer
  • Welding and light fabrication a plus​​​​​​

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a mechanic or technical degree in diesel technology or related field
  • Must have your own tools
  • Valid driver’s license
  • A CDL is a plus but not required
  • Must be able to attain a RI State Class C Inspectors' License
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Own behavior towards others and quality of work performed
  • Ability to manage multiple competing and/or rapidly changing priorities

Skills & Abilities:

  • Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time; ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work
  • Communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner. Engages in effective two-way communication with individuals and groups
  • Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
