Koester Construction is looking for a Traveling Foreman to join our team. If you enjoy traveling, working with your hands, crossing things off your to-do list, and working alongside a great team to get the job done, this role is for you. This position will travel across the country, changing job sites anywhere from every 2 days to 2 months. In addition to your base salary, you will receive a truck allowance, a daily per diem while traveling, and all lodging will be set up and paid for by the company. Additionally, Koester will pay for your flight home once per month.

Responsibilities include traveling to job sites across the country and performing a variety of tasks, including:

  • Coordinate with onsite personnel and subcontractors to meet project schedule deadlines
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
  • Perform quality control inspections and ensure that all work meets industry standards
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including material and labor costs
  • Complete the assigned tasks efficiently while achieving the desired company quality standards
  • Model and enforce the company’s safety policies
  • Facility maintenance and general labor as assigned, including clean-up, carpentry, and equipment operation
  • Advise the project team of conflicts or problems that may cause any delays
  • Assist the project team with the execution of the completion list, punch list, and warranty items
  • Maintain a clean, neat, orderly, and safe job site and trailer
  • Work in a manner aligned with our Core Values of Teamwork, Safety, Integrity, and Excellence


Essential Job Functions:

  • Use hand and power tools to perform tasks as assigned
  • Perform sustained physical labor, including standing, walking, crouching, and climbing ladders
  • Work in confined or awkward spaces
  • Lift and maneuver material and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs with proper equipment
  • Read printed materials and communicate in person or over the telephone
  • Lift, push, pull materials weighing up to 50+ lbs
  • Use hand and power tools to perform tasks as assigned
  • Perform sustained physical labor, including standing, walking, and crouching
  • Perform work at height, including climbing ladders
  • Perform work in confined or awkward spaces
  • Read printed and digital materials
  • Communicate professionally, both verbal and written communication
  • Adhere to all safety standards


Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, commercial carpentry, or construction supervision
  • Ability to travel extensively and work on a flexible schedule
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Valid driver's license (must be insurable)
  • Reliable transportation, punctuality, and reliability
  • Must own basic hand tools, and have the ability to use/operate basic carpentry tools
