Position:  MST Supervisor


Summary:  MST Supervisors oversee a team of MST Therapists as well as being responsible for their own caseload.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts weekly group supervision of MST team to assure adherence to MST principles and MST analytic process.
  • Conducts individual supervision as needed to target clinical competency needs and to remove individual barrier to effective implementation of MST treatment
  • Assures appropriate documentation of clinical effort to allow for peer and supervisory input, and to meet all reporting and communication needs of funding and referrals sources
  • Provides supportive and corrective feedback to clinicians to promote client outcomes
  • Provides administrative support targeting systemic barriers to treatment success
  • Assures availability of clinical and administrative support for clinicians 24 hours per day 7 days per week
  • Assures therapist accessibility to clients when needed at times most likely to promote engagement
  • Assures that clinicians achieve engagement with all key participants
  • Provides direct clinical training to assure clinician competency in all clinical areas relating to the implementation of MST interventions
  • Assures that all assessments are comprehensive, multisystemic, and provide adequate information to determine the causes and correlates of referral behaviors to direct effective treatment within the ecological context
  • Other duties as assigned


Educational Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, Ph.D. preferred.


Preferred Experience

  • Substance abuse treatment using contingency management direct use of pragmatic family therapies
  • Individual therapy with children and adults using cognitive behavioral techniques
  • Marital therapy using behaviorally-based approaches
  • Behavioral therapy targeting school behavior and academic performance

 

Preferred Knowledge

  • Family systems theory and application
  • Substance use/abuse theory and behavioral approaches to SA treatment
  • Social ecological theory and application
  • Behavioral therapies theory and knowledge
  • Cognitive-behavioral theory therapy and application
  • Pragmatic family therapies theory and application
  • Social skills assessment and intervention
  • Child development research and its application in treatment
