We are seeking a creative, fashion designer to join our growing team. In this position, you will be part of the team creating eye-catching and cutting-edge designs. You will design, produce, and present new fashion apparel that is on-trend, while meeting with key suppliers, building relationships with manufacturers and leading a team to create a finished product. 

Fashion Designer/Seamstress Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Draw, sketch, and plan designs for fashion apparel/accessories
  • Research fashion trends and similar designs
  • Create tests/prototypes of design pieces
  • Collaborate with fabric manufacturers for materials
  • Work with other designers and creators to build designs
  • Create matching or aligned pieces for a collection
  • Display design pieces at fashion and trade shows; present to creative directors.
  • Market and sell fashion designs to retailers/customers
  • Advertise products and meet with distributors
  • Create a plan to manufacture designs with a team or partnership

Fashion Designer Requirements and Qualifications 

  • Experience in sewing, designing, and retail experience
  • In-depth understanding of design principles, fashion, and the fashion industry
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
