TITLE: TIG / MIG Welder
DEPARTMENT: Exhaust
LOCATION: LaCrosse, WI
REPORTS TO: Exhaust Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for performing setup on all welding components requiring a high degree of skill and welding technique where alignment, dimensions and weld quality must conform to strict quality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
Setup and operate welding machines
Weld thin wall carbon and stainless steel tubing
Visualize and troubleshoot problems associated with welding
Observe and inspect parts to ensure specifications are met
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of experience performing TIG & MIG operations on various materials
Knowledge of weld symbols and terminology
Ability to read and understand blueprints and written procedures
Knowledge of material characteristics and flow
Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Well organized and self-directed
PHYSICAL AND PPE REQUIREMENTS:
Employee is regularly required to:
Stand
Use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls
Talk and hear
Walk, stoop, crouch and bend
Reach above shoulders
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes
