Forklift Mechanic
Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm M-F. Some overtime may be required.
Job Summary
A growing specialty manufacturing firm in northern NJ is seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic. The company designs, builds and converts electric forklifts, as well as diesel engines and equipment for use in hazardous environments. This position will report to the Mechanical Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
• Disassembly of new forklift trucks, including mast.
• Disassembly of electric motor.
• Assembly of converted electric motors.
• Assembly of converted forklift trucks, including mast.
• Knowledge of hydraulic components and assembly.
• Recommend changes in design or construction to improve the production or quality of the final product.
Required:
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as a Mechanic.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Knowledge of Spanish a plus.
• Ability to read mechanical prints and technical documents.
• Must know how to operate common shop tools (drills, saws, grinders, etc.).
• Willing to assist in other areas of production when the need arises.
