POSITION SUMMARY

Quality Inspectors will inspect every truck to ensure it meets Rosenbauer’s high quality standards. This will be accomplished by verifying the truck was built to customer specifications, perform thorough testing of all operational functions and fit & finish inspection of all components.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Perform in-process and final inspections referencing RMN Quality Management System process OP 850 and customer build specifications.
  2. Perform truck ship duties by referencing RMN Quality Management System process OP 852
  3. Perform Commercial Chassis’ check-in duties by referencing RMN Quality Management System process 840.
  4. Perform audits of inspection reports and check lists to verify resolution of findings.
  5. Perform inspections to ensure trucks meet RMN Engineering and NFPA requirements.
  6. Thorough understanding of the ISO 9001 International Standard and demonstrate conformity.
  7. Communicate effectively and accurately both verbally and through detailed technical writing.
  8. Assist test pit as needed.
  9. Assist Detail as needed.
  10. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Tools to be utilized:

Hand tools, power tools, grinders, cut off wheels, tape measure, and pressure washer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality inspection role required.
  • Knowledge of all fire truck systems and functions preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems preferred.

Language:

  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.

Math:

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

  • Basic PC Functions.

Abilities:

  • Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
